PROJECT
A successful game plan
One of the NFL’s largest stadiums needed to reduce its carbon footprint. We came up with a creative energy solution with economic benefits.
MetLife Stadium is the only sports facility in the U.S. to have its roof lined with solar panels.
But it’s not the lone arena supporting sustainability efforts. In addition to our successful work with MetLife, we installed solar solutions at the home of the Washington Redskins (FedExField), the San Francisco 49ers (Levi’s Stadium), the Houston Texans (NRG Stadium) and New England Patriots (Gillette Stadium). We also implemented a solar-powered display and wind-powered turbines for Lincoln Financial field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles.
SUSTAINABILITY RESULTS
A game-changing endeavor
Our innovative solar generating system stretches a mile long.
The building-integrated photovoltaic panels (manufactured by Atlantis Energy Systems) generate about 350 kilowatts of energy—nearly 25 times the amount needed to power the LED display. Beyond powering the stadium’s daily energy needs, the energy can light up the ring when the sun goes down. Any excess power can go back into the grid.
