Joining a Demand Response program is one of the ways to positively impact your carbon footprint. Through the program, customers reduce their energy use during periods of high demand. This plan contributes to modernizing and stabilizing the grid, fewer outages, savings for customers, and reduced emissions.

We are proud to celebrate the participation and loyalty of our Demand Response customers with the NRG Demand Response Customer Recognition Program.

This recognition program was started to spotlight our amazing customers and show our appreciation for their energy saving efforts. There are three categories customers can meet the criteria in:

  1. Outstanding Customer
  2. Longevity
  3. 100% Program Goals

This year we acknowledged more than 200 customers across these three groups. Keep reading to learn more about the categories and how to benefit from the energy you don’t use.

Outstanding Customer (3 recipients)

Customer participation makes our Demand Response program possible. This category highlights excellent participation, effort, and overall energy reduction in the program. Customers receiving this recognition worked hard to make outstanding contributions toward a clean energy future.

Longevity (181 recipients)

Since our Demand Response program rewards smart, responsible energy users, many customers have been participating for a decade or longer. These customers have been long-standing partners with us. They have worked relentlessly to reduce their energy consumption during peak demand year after year. For the first time, we are recognizing 15-year customers in addition to 10-year customers.

100% Program Goals (40 recipients)

When you join the Demand Response program, our team works closely with you to review your current energy usage and customize a Reduction Action Plan. Customers in this category are first-time Demand Response particpants who achieved 100% of their program goals.
