We’re proud to celebrate our valued Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers and their commitment to creating a brighter, more sustainable future. To show our appreciation for their efforts we created the NRG Demand Response Customer Recognition Program. This program recognizes our customers who actively participate in managing their energy consumption and acknowledges the steps they’re taking to support energy sustainability and efficiency.

NRG has been offering NRG Business customers Demand Response (DR) programs since 2003, and we have over 2,000 megawatts of capacity on standby — enough to power an estimated 1.6 million homes. A DR program is designed to optimize energy consumption by encouraging customers to reduce their energy usage during peak demand periods. The goal is to balance the load on the power grid, ensuring a stable, reliable energy supply.

When DR customers participate in our program, they contribute to fewer power outages, lower costs, and reduced emissions. The NRG Demand Response Customer Recognition Program highlights their loyalty and dedication in three categories:

Outstanding Customer (3 recipients)

We’re proud to spotlight the people driving the success of our DR program — our NRG Business customers. This category is dedicated to customers who have gone above and beyond. Recipients in this group have shown active involvement, great effort, and excellent energy reduction.

Longevity (157 recipients)

A decade or more of dedication deserves recognition. For the first time, we’re recognizing our 20-year NRG Business customers. This category celebrates DR C&I customers who have shown a steady commitment to reducing energy use year after year. Recipients are responsible energy users and long-time partners who share the same goals as our DR program.

100% Program Goals (26 recipients)

Meeting 100% of program reduction goals is no small feat. This category recognizes new NRG Business customers who have successfully achieved 100% of their reduction goals in their first year of participation. Their commitment to energy efficiency sets an excellent example for everyone in the program.
